C. Anthony Harris says he’s grown into the amazing opportunity 5LINX® provides.
C. Anthony Harris didn’t become the Fourth Senior Vice President in the history of 5LINX® by good luck. He did it by hard work and discipline, by setting weekly and monthly goals and by reviewing them after three months and six months, and by deciding where he wanted to be in a year, in three years and even farther down the road. “Setting goals is charting the course of your life,” he says. “If you have no goals you just go anywhere. A goal is going to navigate you to your destination, inch by inch.”
C. Anthony was in another telemarketing company six years ago when he and his business partner were introduced to 5LINX®. They went to Rochester, N.Y., to meet the founders, and stayed for three days, learning more about the company. The more they learned about it, the more they liked it. C. Anthony has come to see his last company as helping him set the groundwork for success with 5LINX®. “It wasn’t to this magnitude,” he says of his success with the other company. “That’s why I jumped ship. I saw that I could really hit the ball out of the park with 5LINX®. I truly believe that my other business was gearing me up for 5LINX®.”

VITAL BUSINESS TIP
Be consistent with building your business.
Since C. Anthony became involved with 5LINX®, the company has grown exponentially. It went from two Senior Vice Presidents to more than 50 and from 16 employees to 178. He jokes that the growth is due to him joining the company, and then adds seriously that he credits the founders’ vision and their commitment to representatives. “Teamwork makes the dream work,” he says. “We work as a team with the mission at hand. It’s like the next Amazon.com.”
Certainly his life has changed on every level in the last six years. Financial ease allows people to grow spiritually, mentally, physically and professionally. And 5LINX® has brought him financial prosperity. “The reason a lot of people don’t grow in those areas is because they’re always thinking about money, how to get money,” he says. “I have a positive cash flow. I don’t have to worry about money at all. I’m able to help others.” He has also bought a new home and is in the process of building another one, exactly to his specifications. He and his wife, Donna, work together out of their home since she quit her job as a high-school teacher a year ago. “My wife no longer has to work an outside job,” he says, going on to list other financial benefits of his 5LINX® business success. “I’m able to support my mother. I’m able to surprise my nephews and my niece and now my granddaughter. I’m able to give more to charity.”
Though network marketing is the ultimate entrepreneurial opportunity, C. Anthony still believes in the importance of a schedule and a discipline. His typical day starts at 8:40 a.m., when he starts checking his messages, returning his calls and e-mails and doing his daily affirmations. His business is growing and so is the company, despite the country’s economic downturn. “Our company is growing in a down economy,” he says. “That’s what’s attracting people. Can you imagine what will happen when the economy turns upward? You want to be ready, geared up to go for that ride and you want to take a whole lot of people with you. That day is coming.”
Outsiders might look at C. Anthony and think that he found success with 5LINX® because he’s cut out for this type of business. He points out that he grew into the opportunity, that he saw the big picture and learned from the people around him.
“When you’re in the right place at the right time, you have to become the right person and take the right action,” he says. “That’s what I’ve done over the last six years.” And along the way, he’s taken great pleasure in bringing others along for the ride. Peace of mind and happiness are at the top of his list of 5LINX® rewards. But the opportunity to help others is right up there, too. “When I get a call from somebody telling me thank you for being there, thank you for supporting me, thank you for guiding me, thank you for being my mentor, that’s an extremely rewarding thing for me,” he says. “That’s more important than the money.” // YOUR BUSINESS AT HOME MAGAZINE (OCTOBER 2010)
